In Land-Living reinterprets the American vernacular of the barn. In collaboration with AWP/AWILDC (Alessandra Cianchetta), the design and development allow for various typologies resulting in residential barns, art barns, remote working barns, or a combination. It transforms into a functional and sustainable, yet sensuous, living environment in the center of nature.
The modular CLT prefabricated barns are adapted to open fields, rolling hills, and wooded sites. They have been developed with close attention to the natural elements through the raw material selections enhancing the atmosphere of the working and living space.
In light of the current pandemic, there is a crucial need for access to nature and open-air to sustain mental and physical wellness. As people are reconsidering their urban priorities, In-Land living provides spaces spanning from a large artist studio with the en-suite master bedroom to a four-bedroom typology with annexed guest cabin or office. The modular construction technique keeps construction costs and assembly time considerably down, making build-ability fast-tracked and affordable.
